Tuning tips
Always tune up to the note: if you’re sharp, drop below the pitch and come back up. That takes the slack out of the gears so the string holds its tuning. Pluck with medium force and let the note ring for a second before reading the needle, because the very start of a note is slightly sharp.
A cent is one hundredth of a semitone. Within ±5 cents is effectively in tune for most listeners; the display turns green there. After tuning all six strings, check the first again, since changing tension on one string pulls the neck slightly. Next: learn some guitar chords or keep time with the metronome.

What are the notes of standard guitar tuning?
From the thickest string to the thinnest: E2, A2, D3, G3, B3, E4 (82.4, 110, 146.8, 196, 246.9 and 329.6 Hz at A = 440 Hz).
Does the tuner work on a phone?
